GROUNDS
Under Louisiana law, a divorce shall be granted: On the petition of a spouse upon proof that:
i. The spouses have been separated and apart for 6 months on the date the petition is filed; (102)
OR: The spouses will be separated for six months before the decree is signed by the judge. (103)
ii. The other spouse has committed adultery; or
iii. The other spouse has committed a felony and has been sentenced to death or imprisonment at hard labor
